Community

False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club has been serving the community of Muizenburg and the surrounding areas for several years now. The lifeguards that work at the club do so on a voluntary basis with no remuneration and work every weekend to ensure our beach is protected. Our members make an effort to go above and beyond the duties required of them and aim to help inform and educate all visitors on numerous issues such as safety in the sea, how to preserve our environment, issues regarding the weather and many more. They also strive to ensure our beach stays clean and remind users of the beach that they should treat it with respect.

The club has also been a strong supported of Calypso Cricket presented by Sporting Chance for a number of years now. Every year 500-600 children between the ages of nine and fifteen are hosted at the beach each day for a week to play mini-games of beach cricket, after which they are provided with a meal.

The club also provides extra lifeguards to watch over the youngsters on the beach.  Sporting Chance plays a vital role in promoting the use of sport to better the lives of our children and FBSLC is happy to be associated with them!
