Become a False Bay SLC Partner

False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club is looking to build a meaningful working relationship with a partner or sponsor who shares the same passion and mutual interest in lifesaving, community development, sports, the beach and the sea.

False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club is a registered Non-Profit Organisation, with operations in the disaster and risk management services, skills development and transformation portfolios, with an additional emphasis on the sports aspect of lifesaving, being a South African Sports Olympic Committee sport.  We are a volunteer organisation, and as such FBSLC is maintained and kept financially sustainable by it’s managing committee and members alone, and is reliant exclusively on government grant funding through affiliate organisations (e.g. Lifesaving Western Province).

We watch over 500 000 beachgoers on Muizenberg and Sunrise Beach every summer, making sure they have a safe day at the beach.”

Community driven at heart, we believe we can make a difference in people’s lives through giving them the opportunity and experience to become a lifeguard. Lifesaving is different because it teaches a valuable life skill, and opens doors to so many more opportunities for kids from the community.”  – Kishan Kalan, Chairman

What the sponsorship opportunity looks like:
The beachfront clubhouse facility boasts a fantastic advertising opportunity for partners, situated on Muizenberg Beach, which is an internationally recognised Blue Flag beach, ensuring regular local and tourist user groups.
Weekends also boast a crowded flea market across the parking way from the clubhouse.

False Bay SLC Competition Team

FBSLC’s competition squad is truly a squad of lifesaving merit, having produced countless SA National Champion Title holders through the years, as well as a recent (2012 and 2013) World Champion Beach Flags Title.
The lifeguards at False Bay SLC tend to specialise in beach events, which naturally gives surf lifesaving the most coverage and exposure, as opposed to sea-based events which are often difficult to film.
Lifeguard training is overseen by trained and experienced industry professionals.

Sunrise Beach is home to progressive extreme sports like kiteboarding which attracts a completely different and unique segment of beach user, and False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club has formed strong relationships and bonds with many of the governing bodies of these sports. A coming together of these governing bodies, the lifesaving club, and The City of Cape Town Municipalities led to the development of a “beach usage guide”, an understanding for all beach users to enjoy our lovely home to it’s fullest.

False Bay Surf Lifesaving Club is accredited to Lifesaving Western Province District, and Lifesaving South Africa, who is a member of the International Lifesaving Federation.

the finest thing a man can do is save one.”
